i am interested in doing a center channel? i don't have 5.1, but just for music sake, who can help me out here...what do i have to look out for, what do i have to gain? do i just bridge it off of a small amp?

My current system consists of: Planet audio 1200d, planet audio 300/4, clarion peq 460 in dash eq, alpine cva 1005, planet audio neo 8 inch sub glassed into the passenger footwell, alpine 5.25 components in glass kicks and alpine 6.5 midbass in doors... all in a 2001 dodge neon.

i think it is a great idea, i have been working on the idea for my nissan for some time now. running an amp off the front channel and then bridging it into the speaker sounds like good way to run it. i would use two 3.5 two ways.

a center channel is a bad idea for music. Music is recorded in two channel, left and right. it was made this way, recorded this way, and should be played this way. this is just my opinion, but that is why nobody does it.

audio control used to make a processor, called the ESP-2 and the ESP-3, it created a center channel, but it is a little hard to phanse and equalize, but when done right the sond staging is awsome

actually, if it's done right, a center channel can add a lot to your sound stage.

the best way i found is to either get a small amp that will run mono mode and drive the speaker off it, or get a two female-one male rca adapter and run both left and right into one channel of your amp. As long as the center is seeing both left and right signal, it will work quite well.
