Cda 9835 Help!

Would anyone be able to tell me how to properly tune my HU? im not in anyway electronically inclined, but i do know that this HU has the ability to produce some pretty amazing sound. I just dont have any clue as to what all the different terms are, as far as slope and hz. i mostly listen to rap and rock, so i want to be able to tune the speakers in my car to thier max potential. Im running JL XR component sets powered with a phoenix gold tantrum 600.4, the subs im running are 3 JL 10W3v2's powered with a PG Titanium 500.2 bridged. Any help would be awesome

read bcae1.com and understand what crossovers and everything does

then think about how you want it to sound

then think about how it currently sounds

think about the changes you need to get it how you want it to sound

open the alpine manual, adjust using instructions

it WILL take time... so dont expect quick results

Do you have the Components Bi-Amped or are they running with the passive crossover?

For the Deck, 1=6db slope, 2=12db slope, 3=18db slope, and 4=24dbslope.

The 24db slope would work good for the highpass on the fronts. A lighter slope like 12 or 18 could help blend the subs with the mids a bit, but 6db's would be too shallow unless the crossover frequency was low. Try 80Hz for the highpass and lowpass with both slopes set to 24db's. That's an average starting point for most systems especially more geared towards bass heavy music like rap.
