CD7000 3 Way Help

Just wondering if I am missing something here, but when I go to set the unit to 3 way, it never accepts the choice. I tried using e-iserve and downloading data, but that didn't work. Is there a switch I have to set or something, because I'm just tired and pissed now. Looking for any help, thx.

Bump for anyone else that has possibly experienced this problem.

I know how to get to the correct spot in the menu, but I am never able to select 3-way. I can move up to it, but it won't accept "enter".

You need to hold in the select button for at least 10 seconds when selecting 3 way. Then it will ask you to confirm the selection.

yep it took me a while to figure that out too. you have to hold down enter for a bit so it accepts.

On this topic, I have never use a 3 way setup before, What specific speaker is each preout set assigned to in that configuration? Does it disable the factory deck outputs when in this mode?

How was it setting up the time alignment, did you do it on the unit or did you set it up online and download the data?

i did it on the unit. just played with it until i liked the way it sounded

i've got this deck also. i like the 7000 series (7000/7100/7200) for the audio quality and simple looking design, but i also hate it for that silly swing down face that makes some installs a nightmare. i also dislike the really crappy display technology that has not progressed much for the entire series. lastly, why does it take a few phone calls to eclipse to get area shot to work right ? -- because the manual is bad.

just venting here. i do like it in the SQ dept. however i'm contemplating on a KDC-X991. curious to see if anyone has done a head-to-head between the cd7000 and the X991.

I miss my old Kenwood X859.

I dont love the cd7k but there isnt much out there I like any better either.
