50 Cent - The massacre

Rating: 1/5

Fav. Song: Piggy Bank (only because it gave Jadakiss and Fat Joe something to make fun of this fool about)

This might have been reviewed already but I can't explain how much I cannot stand this cd. "Get Rich or Die Tryin" was an ok CD but this one is F***ing terrible IMO! Almost reminds me of the new Lil Jon cd altho the beats on Lil Jon's CD are much better. I really don't like 50 cent more or less because Jadakiss is one of my favorite rappers, but I think the CD has no real meaning to it.

Jadakiss said it best ... "Buncha love songs, hundred percent pure garbage, just somethin ta break up buds on."

Lloyd Banks - The Hunger for More

Rating: 1/5

Fav. Song: Work Magic

This is one of my favorite CD's even tho he is on the same label as the douchebag listed above. Great flows in my opinion, Young Buck + Lloyd Banks = teH 0000berness! The beats are nice and there aren't too many slow songs on it

Dr. Dre - The Chronic

i know its old but it is one of the greatest albums ever created and by far the best dr. dre album. a 5/5 and if you dont have get it. its easy to find and for a good reason

Keepin it alive...

The Deftones- White Pony

Favorite songs: "Digital Bath" and "Passenger"

3.5/5

When I first popped this cd into my cd player I was majorly disappointed. The first song "Back to school (mini maggot)" sounded almost just like Fred Durst and his gay little band. The second song "Fieterciera" (sp?) was better but nothing special at all. When I got to track 3 "Digital Bath" things got a lot better. A very atmospheric song about electricuting a woman in a tub, where Chino finally shows off his voice as he screams "because I feel like more" as his excuse for him comitting murder. Another favorite was "Passenger" which can definitely be interpreted how u want it to be. Maynard James Keenan contributes his tense voice to this song, which gives it that extra edge that makes you want to listen to over and over. Other standout songs are "Elite" where there is constant screaming (if you like that), "Rx Queen" which is about a drug addict who calls his drug "his girl" and confesses he doesnt mind if she "stings", and "Teenager" which has a very cool beat to it. This is definitely not a cd you can listen to completely through but it does have its moments and those moments are really good. Thumbs up.

Who is Mike Jones? - Mike Jones

Rating: 1/5

Favorite Song: Laws Patrolling

Is it me or is this cd annoying? In the song Turning Lane, he says turning lane one hundred and twelve times. It was played out a minute into the song. His lyrics are decent. The only thing he has going for this cd is catchy hooks and beats. Songs that will get radio play.

WHO? MIKE JONES! Agree with that review 100%. Someone should call that phone number he shouts out 481 times on the cd.

How about:

2pac: Me Against the World

Rating: 5/5

His best cd, to me. You can tell he was still working hard on this album, and wasnt caught up in the whole east vs. west crap. Best song is "Shed So Many Tears".

Darrick Patrick: both "september freestyles" and "Mental Dislocation". Might not be able to find it on the net, hes a local guy, PM me if you want to give it a listen.

Z-Ro - Let The Truth Be Told
4.5/5

If you're a fan of hip-hop outta Houston, TX. Buy this album.
people on here actually have heard of z-ro the crooked? thats tight as hell. I actually was going to design his site a while back but didnt happen that way, im not sure if tosin from sinful designs has done it. I was intrested in doing it when i was with flare media, i know he did the guerilla maab site. Anyways i agree with you on this one, z-ro isnt for the average listener, if your more intrested in what the rapper is spittin about then z-ro is for you, but if you intrested in cl'che rappers try Dyke Jones.

here is some other albums you might like if you like z-ro:

K-Rino - Stories From The Black Book http://southparkcoalition.com/

10/10 K is the best lyricist in the south, the production is better then his previous records, but its mostly self produced, and im not even sure if its mastered some tracks sound unmastered, but nonetheless the best album this year.

Chamillionaire - Sound Of Revenge due out September 27th

^^^ just brought back an awesome thread.

Squad 5-0 - Squad 5-0

I love this CD imo the best of thier albums. It has a mix of punk, rock, glam (Bright Lights, Big city kinda feel). I love every single song in this cd except number 2: "gonna make you a star"

4.5/5

Smile empty soul-Smile empty soul

Favorite song-ALL ("The other side" being my favorite because it hits home)

Rating 5/5

This CD is just fvcking awsome, from the slower "This is war" to "Therapy" There is alot of good songs on this album. Highly Recomended!

Papa Roach-Getting Away with murder

Favorite songs-Scars, Stop looking start Seeing, Tyranny of normality

Rating 4.5/5

Not a huge fan of punk-like music but this CD is pretty **** good IMO.

hmmmmmm......yall brought back my thread...guess i'll contribute as well

I've bought a few new cd's since my last post

Tool- Undertow 4.5/5

Fav. Songs-----> Intolerance, Sober, Crawl Away

Very good cd. Very raw sounding in comparison to Lateralus. Most noticeable thing I like about Undertow over their other releases is the bass. Paul has a very outfront style with his bass, not hiding behind the rest of the instruments. Not saying Justin sucks by any means but I really prefer Paul's style better. Anyway, awesome songs, you've all heard it before.

Alice In Chains - Best of the Box 3.5/5

Fav. songs----> Man In the Box, Down In A Hole

Pretty good cd here (awesome box art) but it just seems kinda empty and just threw together. A few live songs here and there and some unreleased demos that really add to the threw together effect. But still there are some real good songs here. It's just not easy to sit down to alot of AIC imo because they seem to sound the same after a while and have the same subject matter in nearly all their songs. for 10 bux it was worth it.

Dream Theater - Awake 4/5

Fav Songs---> Lie, Space Dye Vest, 6:00

I knew I would like this cd from the first few seconds of the drums at begining. First off, Portnoy is awesome, and the guitarist (forgot his name, maybe Petrucci or some thing like that) is lightning fast. Lyrics are pretty good except sometimes they ride the line on a bit cheesy. The thing that made me not like some of the songs was the keyboard. I'm sorry, and flame me all you want, but he needs stay in the background more. Ughhhhhh. Other than that it's an awesome cd.

Nine Inch Nails- The Downward Spiral 3.5/5

Fav. Songs----> Mr Self Destruct, Reptile

Just got this cd yesterday, so I can't say much on it besides that the production is awesome.

My 2 cents

Charlie Hunter Quintet - Right Now Move

rating : 4/5

fav song : Mestre Tata

Great cd, considering it was recorded in 3 days total, although the majortiy was done in a single day due to studio problems. Charlie Hunter is always a treat, although I cant say the same about the amout of harmonica and sax on the disc (thats what you get with the band though, so no complaints). Much better live or on DVD.

more coming later.
