I purchased a Sony radio from Circuit City yesterday. I got the free installation. The radio works fine, but when I placed a CD in the headunit, I hear no sound. The car is equipped with an Infinity Amp and a factory in dash 4 disc CD changer. Any help? Thanks!

It does have a seperate amp in it. Something in the wiring isnt turning it on. Even if you can get it to work it kind of defeats the purpose of buying an aftermarket cd player as you are still going to get the same wattage out of the stock amp. You probably will have to run your own wires to the speakers. Try looking around http://www.dodgeintrepid.net There may be some better answers there.

If he's getting output when in tuner mode but not in CD mode then most likely (and this is a very common mistake) they've got the power antenna lead connected instead of the remote accessory activation lead to the OEM amp.

When in tuner mode that antenna lead will be powered but not in CD mode or Aux mode (if present).

Take it back to Circuit City and tell them what it's doing and make them correct their mistake (I'd put money on my assumption being what they did...)

They used 2 different harnesses when doing the installation. The used Chrysler to aftermarket; then aftermarket to Sony. They don't believe in cutting and crimpping anymore.

That doesn't mean that the installer in question didn't make a mistake and connect the plain blue wire rather than the blue with a white stripe wire in the aftermarket to Sony connection...

Could their be a problem with the harness?
