CD Changer in trunk with sub?

Hi, I am an old school guy and have not yet converted to the compressed music format for listening to my music. I still love my CD's for the outstanding SQ I get from them. From what I hear, music from my Iphone will not sound near as good as from the CD's. From my perspective, the big benefit of listening to compressed music is the ability to have thousands of songs to choose from without the hassles of changing discs every hour or so.

Thus, I thought maybe purchasing a CD changer could help reduce the amount of time I am manually changing CD's. This would be a big help on my 5-hour trips to Chicago I take every so often. And, I would still be able to listen to the better SQ format.

I see a couple of possible drawbacks with this solution. One is the quite possible problem of mechanical breakdown of my CD changer, but I think I am willing to take that chance. The second is why I am posting this thread.

I just purchased a sub and will be placing it in the trunk, which is where I want to place my CD changer (if I decide to purchase one). If they both go in the trunk of my 1991 Accord, will my changer have any issues being so close to the sub? I really don't see any where else I can place the changer.

What do you guys think? Does anyone have a CD changer in the trunk alongside a sub in a trunk? Are there any other solutions that I am not thinking of?

Thanks, in advance, for any input that I may receive.

I had an Alpine 12-disc CD changer in my trunk a few years ago. It would skip with certain songs, mainly only very heavy bass tracks. I don't miss that ****. I still have the changer an an Ai-Net cable on a shelf and I want to sell it.

Today we have several ways to play digital music beyond CD quality. Even Apple lossless files can sound at least as good as a CD. It also depends on the quality of the recording. I'm sure you know not all CDs sound great. The same applies to files on your iPod.

I am interested in hearing about how to get CD quality or better from my Iphone or Ipod, both of which I am not storing any music on as of yet. I don't do this because my Eclipse 55040 head unit does not have an AUX input. I do, however, have an Eclipse CD8051 and CD8454 (both NOS) sitting in my closet waiting for me to install one of them. And, they both have AUX inputs! If you are telling me I can get CD quality or better from my mobile devices then I think I will install one of them pretty darn quickly.

If you have a new/good computer you can rip at 320bit rate!Sent from my block to yours!
If I rip music onto my mobile devices, does it make a difference as to how that music enters my head unit? I mean, having it enter through a USB port or AUX input? Which is better for SQ?

I just used USB, my deck has both! My daily driver I'm using Bluetooth which *****' *** to me! Nothing beats a wired connection. USB you can use the controls on you deck.

Sent from my block to yours!

I've seemed to have gotten off track a little bit here. My apologies. My first concern in posting this thread was to see if I was going to have any problems with the CD changer being so close to the sub as it sits in my trunk. Does anybody else have any insight here?
