which do you prefer?

when does it make the difference?

Is OFC used more for comp. set ups?

Or is CCA just for those who don't want to spend the extra?

What about running 2 runs of CCA instead of 1 run of OFC?

If you run CCA is short lengths. Lets says 3-6 feet. Will there be a difference in current draw vs 3-6 of OFC?

Its all install dependent..I would guess about 80% of people never draw as much current as there wire is capable of..so with that said, get which ever you can afford and the right one for your setup

I gained .4v at the amp going from CCA to OFC. I was only running a 1500 watt setup with the 1/0. OFC is better all around. Its not that much more, its worth it. Do it right the first time will save in the long run.

I use CCA for all of my setups (if the wire is 1/0 that is). Never had any problems. If I'm using short runs of wires ex. the big 3, I'll just get the best wire I can so I don't place any restrictions on my setup. My power wire is 1/0 CCA but my big 3 is done in 2/0 welding cable. Is it necessary? Probably not, but I'll never have to worry about the big 3 being a choke point

Was that really the only thing you changed? What brand was the CCA, and what brand was the OFC?

similar results, as well as gains on the meter have been noted quite often,

the same has also been noted with adding multiple runs, and with doing ground runs back to the front.

Less resistance. One runs on top of the stands one runs though the whole strand. They both may pass 200 amps but which one will pass it easier
