My rear deck in my 2008 4 door Honda Accord is rattling so hard it is making my bass sound bad!! I have 800 watts going to two ported 12's and it hits pretty hard, but I mostly hear rattling bass rather than true clean sounding bass. Its pissing me off and driving me crazy!!! I know that center brake light is the main culprit along with a few other rattling spots. Does anyone else find this happening and really hurting their bass and almost making it sound distorted??? Any good solutions??? thanks so much

You haven't heard rear deck rattles till you've heard my car with the back seats up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

thank god (and second skin) I've got some damplifier pro on the way

I ended up having to take out my center brake light cuz that thing slapped so hard on the window...try stuffing either pipe insulation or a towel or something soft and dampening in any crevice you can get it in back there

sound dampening material is the way to go. Also does your rear deck have speakers in it (like my civic and its 6 1/2's)? Make sure they are bolted down securely because the extra weight helps. Also any holes that the rear deck has try and plug them with gaps and cracks stuff

I've noticed that the pain in the *** rattle in almost every car is the seat belt mechanism. Under the cover where it spools up there is a little plastic tab that rattles. I think its part of the catch and release mechanism of the seat belt.

I just stick something between it and the spool to keep it from buzzing. I guess the majority had been GM vehicles for me but listen for it.

I sound deadened my rear deck with about 5sq ft, then put some thick weather seal between the back edge of my rear deck and the window. And since my backseat does not fold down, it now gives you a nice massage when bumping. Best of all, I hear minimal rattling from the rear now! So, try that and make sure to get all possible areas of contact that would vibrate with the deadener.

Today I was bumping pretty hard, and looked into my rear view and noticed the center brake light housing literally jumping in the air to the bass. Popped the trunk, and the screws and bolts had actually loosened and dropped!. Must have not tightened it too good...so tighten your screws down also.

Nite.

I have the rear deck done in mine in the trunk. I have to get to the upper part inside the car as I am getting some nasty rattles. I have plenty of fatmat left over, so will be using that as it has worked well everywhere else. I believe mine is a lot of the seatbelt mechanism as well.

My deck rattles quite a bit because I had to cut it to get my box to fit. Now it is alot different from stock and flexes so much more. Ill be investing in some sound deadner which i hope will help tame it down some. It only seems to rattle real bad on the higher 45hz+ bass notes.

If you can locate exactly what is rattling, use some mounting tape and put it between the two panels (or whatever) is rattling against each other. A lot cheaper than sound deadening. You may want to add SD in the the future, but mounting tape has fixed so many random rattles in my car, it's ridiculous. (and cheap!)

I Have a 2001 honda accord 4 door, I have two JL 12 inch subs in a ported box, there is loud annoying noise comming from rattling. I fixed the licence plate rattle the trunk still rattles not too bad going to try to loosen the bolts with stoppers on them to make the trunk lid fit tighter... but there are some bars on the top side underneith the 6 by9 speakers, they run the lenght of the trunk, they rattle like mad, how can i fix that??? does anyone have any ideas? I tried stuffing some cloths there and then the noise came and went sometimes and was even more noticable and irritating and louder ugggg please help me!!!

Wow..why didn't you just make a new thread instead of jacking a 2 year old one? haha..In my civic, I get barely any rear deck rattle. I used Rammat and a ton of polyfill. I gained the best results with the polyfill tho..you can get some at Walmart for like $3. Just stuff it in your rear deck..cheap little fix.
