Having problems carpetting the sides, this is the only part of finishing up the enclosure. Carpeting the sides. Can someone show me a step by step picture, that shows me exactly how you carpet the sides of an enclosure? Thanks.

Btw, The sounddomain forum link to carpeting an enclosure is gone.

There are two styles that I know of. One that ends in an X pattern and one that has a square

For the X pattern, you cut the corners of the carpet that hangs over. You then over lap the two pieces and using a razor blade, cut through both at the same time so that you retain a clean cut. Repeat for all the corners.

Second option will look best with a different color carpet, but it works fine with the same color carpet. Follow the same procedure as the X pattern, but then trim the carpet so maybe ~2" of carpet is left on the side, essentially leaving a boarder. Then lay a piece of carpet over the open area, making sure that you cover the board. Then using the razor blade, cut through both pieces. I would recommend using a straight edge so that it looks cleaner.

Dante glue and fold the left and right side down

fold the top and bottom over it

take a razor and cut through the layers to the wood in the shape of a basketball seem.

remove the bottom cut out layer and lay everything back down.

this will make a seemless carpet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'd do pics but Im not carpeting my box any time soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i don't know what the hell you said. mine just have seams on the sides and i don't like it

or you take a router to the sides and use the uhhhhh something bit and it'll actually cut a little gap in the sides about lil less than 1/4 in and it leaves you a gap to tuck the carpet into...works awesome and looks clean.
