Car won't start please help

no not really, if you think that it is whats going on there is nothing you can do, the dealership has to have the car there to unlock the security system. Probably unhooking the battery cable so many times made it think its stolen, if that is infact it. Check out the other guys ideas first then do this as a last resort. But sounds like it thinks its stolen to me. We get like a car a week towed in because of this. People unhook the battery alot in a short period or get a key copied at walmart, stuff like that

no I am a Chrysler Certified Parts Advisor, have been doing it for like 8 years or so. Tech pays better, but i dont want to work on cars for a living. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter, burn yourself, cut yourself, get all dirty and greasy. Guess I am a puss lol.

does your car have a selenoid? when i put in my system my car wouldn't turn over. it had a very sluggish crank rate. finally i tries jumping it and it started it up and i drove to work. and then it wouldn't start again but it wouldn't jump this time. my selenoid went out and so i replaced it and was all good for awhile. but then i wasn't getting any power when i turned the key or it would start and die. so then i just replaced the fuse on the selenoid and haven't had a problem since. and i don't think that a faulty wired HU would hinder the abilty of your car starting.

his car doesnt have a seperate solenoid, it built into the starter, but I really dont think that is his problem anyways
im unfamiliar with jeeps. it just seemed similiar although im not postive it is quite the same. you seem to have the most knowlege about what is going on. i suggest he listen to you haha. but i was just throwing an idea out there. but even with the selenoid inside your starter, couldn't that still have the same affect.

how many times did you try to jump it? does it jump EVERY time? or just a few and then stop.

so i found out it is in fact the key. I'm getting it towed to the dealership tomorrow, luckily, as of tonight i know a mechanic there (he's my girlfriend's cousin's boyfriend) he said he'd do it for like $40 and i'm getting AAA to tow it for like $30. It still pisses me off tho that i could have had some retard at circuit city install it for less, but whatever. Jdawg, do you know of any wires in the HU area that could have set it off? or do you think it was taking it off so many times and having it off for so long?

get everything wired up so your wires are run, and uninstall all the equipment.

then when you get it back from the dealership all you gotta do is + to +, - to -. bumpin:D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well there's no way to do that, i had to take the sub and amp out so they don't get damaged from the tow truck, the power wires are run to the back, but i still have to ground the amp when i get it. So the negative terminal will have to be unhooked once, but it won't be long so it shouldn't be a problem. right?

how are the sub and amp going to get damaged from the tow truck? Did you mount them on the tailgate or something?
the amp is mounted on the box because there's no where else to mount, and if the car is lifted up i dont want the sub box and all tipping over. just a precaution

I would go ahead and wire it up then just get it towed in and have the dealership do their thing. Messing with the headunit shouldnt have had anything to do with it. I would think unhooking the battery so much made it think it was trying to be stolen.

okay so i went to the dealer, and it wasn't unhooking the battery, it was in fact the headunit. there is a yellow and purple wire that was plugged into the stock CD player, it is the PCI bus cable, it was connected to a wire on the new cd player causing all sorts of problems. Now i'm stuck with lots of costs in repair all because of a stupid wire i was never warned abuot. Oh and i called crutchfield and there is a big warning about it in their database but not on the mastersheet they send, should i see if they'll pay for it?
