CUSTOMER LEARN

Obtain the additional Sentry Key transponder blank(s) that are to be programmed for the vehicle. Cut the additional Sentry Key transponder blanks to match the ignition lock cylinder mechanical key codes.

Insert one of the two valid Sentry Key transponders into the ignition switch and turn the ignition switch to the On position.

After the ignition switch has been in the On position for about three seconds, but no more than fifteen seconds later, cycle the ignition switch back to the Off position. Replace the first valid Sentry Key in the ignition lock cylinder with the second valid Sentry Key and turn the ignition switch back to the On position.

About ten seconds after the completion of Step 3, the SKIS indicator lamp will start to flash and a single audible chime tone will sound to indicate that the system has entered the "Customer Learn" programming mode.

Within about fifty seconds of entering the "Customer Learn" programming mode, turn the ignition switch to the Off position, replace the valid Sentry Key with a blank Sentry Key transponder, and turn the ignition switch back to the On position.

About ten seconds after the completion of Step 5, a single audible chime tone will sound and the SKIS indicator lamp will stop flashing and stay on solid for about three seconds to indicate that the blank Sentry Key transponder has been successfully programmed. The SKIS will immediately return to normal system operation following exit from the "Customer Learn" programming mode.

Go back to Step 2 and repeat this process for each additional Sentry Key transponder blank to be programmed.

If any of the above steps is not completed in the proper sequence, or within the allotted time, the SKIS will automatically exit the "Customer Learn" programming mode. The SKIS will also automatically exit the "Customer Learn" programming mode if it sees a non-blank Sentry Key transponder when it should see a blank, if it has already programmed eight valid Sentry Keys, or if the ignition switch is turned to the Off position for more than about fifty seconds.

Honestly I dont think ^^^ will work. See the car is what programs the keys using this procedure. I think you triggered the immobilizer system someohow. Sounds axacly as you describe it. Car will run for like 3 secs then shut down. You will have to get it towed to a dealership so they can 'unlock' the car. I work at a Chrysler dealership btw. If you were closer I would do it for free but they will probably charge you $50 plus a tow.

so what happens if it doesnt work? rolls up all windows, locks all doors sealing you inside, lays on the horn, turns on the heat full blast and sets off the airbags?

now thats anti-theft.

i kinda want to go get a blank key just to see if it will work tho..

no it just starts for like 3 secs then shuts off, and if you try it too much then it just wont do anything, nothing will work, no power at all, no locks, no windows, nothing

to Jdawg: the guy i bought the car from only gave me 1 key with the chip in it. what are my options? can i reprogram it with my existing key anyway? do i have to have it towed to a dealership? or can i go get some blank sentry keys from the dealership to program it and keep it from having to be towed? what could have set this off?

well thats crappy. all i know is dodge charged me $80 for mine, $40 for them to reach in a bigass box of about 12000 of them and pull one out..and $40 for the technician to stick it in the computer and push 2 buttons, 1 to cut it, and 1 to program it. and $18 bucks for a 1 inch round center cap missing out of one of my rims.

**** you dealer repair!

i dunno how you may have done it. Yes you will have to get it towed. You have to have 2 known good keys to do it yourself.
