car trouble....advice?

88 ranger 2.9L v6

weird problem......truck will run fine for weeks on end, then every once in a while ill go to start it, even after just being run.....and it will turn and turn and turn but wont fire up. sometimes i can spray some ether in the intake and it will fire right up, sometimes not. im takin it into ford on monday but i need to get it started first.....any advice?

Could be anything. Is the check engine light on? If it is, have autozone scan it for free and let us know.

If I had to put money on it though, I would guess a leaking fuel pressure regulator, but again, could be anything.
