car totaled, help converting car audio into home audio now

well my car is totaled and i took all my sound system out of it. Now my sound system is just collecting dust. I would like to turn my car stereo into my home stereo. What is the easiest way to do this? my alpine amp draws out 600 rms and my diamond amp draws out 400 rms. i think the easiest way for me to do this is to get another dry cell battery and a car charger and just charge the battery while the amps are hook up to the battery. is this possible? any danger with putting a dry cell battery in a carpeted room? how long would the battery last?
