car ring trim speakers size going from 6/1/2 - 5/1/2

i am about to buy a speaker component set and they are 5/1/2 but my car takes 6/1/2 speakers in the doors can that be converted to 5/1/2 i heard the make conversions for cars or something is this true?

Don't buy the 5.25 as 6.5 drivers would generically speaking be a much better solution.

and you can just buy an adapter if you really wanted to mount it there.. not a hard thing... or make your own.

You are probably thinking 5 1/4" and not 5 1/2" on the mids. At any rate, you would be suprised at the difference in bass output between a 5.25" speaker and a 6.5" speaker. I'd wait it out and get the 6.5" if it were me.

you can prolly buy a prefabricated plastic one for like 10 bucks or so online. Or get a local shop to make you one from MDF which would be pretty cheap for them to do .. just bring in a cardboard cutout of what you need. The MDF would be a better choice but if you just want an easy drop in without the fuss you can always get the plastic one.

cool i will probably just get the locl car audio shop to do it they have to put in power door locks any how but my question is how much would they charge for this? heh i alrdy bought the components
