Car radio died but I used my cell fm with 3.5mm jacks and it worked great

So can I run a a amp with fm in it and plug it into my existing car radio. My confusion is, will it work using two amps one connected to the other , the fm amp and one in the car radio amp in a line. Thanks a lot.

you can split the signal with a y-splitter sure, but at that point you may have to really turn up the gain just to get the same output levels. phones dont put out very high voltage
