Car electrical help

I have a car with an alternator that runs off a data buss system so it makes power on the computers request. Is there any way to get around this? If so, what way is the best?

Are you for sure this will work as in know someone who has done it? And what's a good brand/price I should be looking at? Otherwise it would be pointless to upgrade any audio in my car bc the lights would dim on anything

yes it works it basically bypasses the car and you set the voltage output

I didn't really want to spend a few hundred dollars on a new alternator and external regulator, plus getting it installed. Not the easiest to get to my alternator on my car. Is there any way to add an external regulator to my current alternator?

thats about your only option there is Tenny,Mechman,Singer,DC Power,Ohio Gen,Excessive Amperage,Iraggi. just have to get ahold of each one an see what they can do for you.

Ur only option is to get a ho alt with external regulator to bypass the computer ..i just did it on my impala..gona cost around 500 plus install if u cant do it urself...this hobby aint cheap bro

This times 2. my car works the same way. and external is the way to go

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I will have to look into pricing on a new alternator for my car
