Car batteries keep dying

i hooked up my system about a month ago.. all worked well for 3 weeks.. then on a -40 degree wind chill day my car was sitting outside and wouldnt start. took it to the dealership they said the battery was dead so i got a new one.. now today its probably about 30 degrees outside and my car wouldnt start again.. dead battery.. both times i had to have AAA come and jump it because jumping it the normal way wouldnt work.. took it to the dealership again today so they are do more extensive testing or something

is there any way my system is drawing power faster than my battery can charge it or something?

i never play it unless the car is running.

id say im sending about 800-900 watts on stock electrical.. i havent had any dimming or anything like that

you may have something hooked up wrong that continually draws current even when the switch is off.
what could that be? i know the amp doesnt go on unless the headunit is on FOR A FACT

i only have 1 amp and a 15" sub.. still got stock speakers.

you may have your constant 12 volt wire (yellow wire) and your ignition wire (red wire) hooked to the wrong wire
i know i matched them color to color.. could it be a bad headunit ground? could that have anything to do with it?

if it was a bad ground your head unit would probably fade in and out. but mostly likely its not your ground. but it doesn't hurt to reground it.
im guessing its what u said.. something is ******* the life out of the battery while the car is off.. my yellow wire on the headunit came with a fuse.. if that fuse is blown could it cause that?

otherwise i have no idea what else could have gone wrong. im not color blind i know i matched the colors correctly

i don't think a blown fuse would cause that. if anything a blown fuse tells you have a short somewhere. and plus with a blown fuse your head unit wouldn't come on because the connection of current is broken.

well shit idk what to do then.. i hooked all this shit up myself and thought i did a good job..

when i took it in today and told him i had a system recently hooked up and he asked who hooked it up for me and i told him i did it.. you could tell he was like.. "oh great"

it happens to all of us. but doing it yourself is the best way to learn. just go back and trouble shoot dats all i can tell you.
ya well its at the dealership now they are doing battery tests and shit.. they said they would let me know if anything was wrong with the system.. if theres something wrong ill fix it myself instead of having them charge me so much for them to do it

doing yourself is the best thing to do. cause if they do it your pockets are going to be crying for help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
