Can you solve it?
I want to setup a workbench to test my enclosures when I am building them. I was wanting to work on some tonight but don't have an amp that I can take into the room I want to work in.

If I were to take a 350watt powersupply from a computer, cut the power (12v) and connect that and the ground, would the amp be ok? I'm not going to run very long (say 5 minutes at a time) but is there any negative effect to doing this? I will run the actual signal from a stereo close by (guess I could just plug in the speaker from the stereo, but I don't want to).

Thanks.

a deep cycle batt would probably be better.
Aye, I agree. The problem is I'm impatient. I'm going to buy a small 100w home amp, but I want to play tonight and I have a PPI Sedona just sitting around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I doubt the power supply will supply enough amperage for the amp, but it's worth a try. You can looking for 'Computer power supply' on the forums, to find out how to get the power supply to actually power the amp.

Well, I just went to my computer storage area and found a new 430watt ps and a brand new dual cd player. I know, its a dual but it was on sale for like 20 bucks a LONG time ago. So i'm going to use that. I found the thread on using the PS as a power source.

Thanks fellas!
