You better have a solid understanding of 12VDC electronics, or know how to hire people that do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A firm knowledge of business/accounting is pretty much required of anyone that's self-employed, as well.

Starting/running a shop @ 18 is going to be really tough to do...partially because of the capital you need to get going, and the time investment required.

Good luck keeping up the business and going to school, if that's your goal...not going to school removes a lot of the opportunities for an education in business and/or electronics, both of which you pretty much need if you want to get anywhere in the industry.

no no no no not at my age now later on, i know for a fact i wouldnt be able to run a shop now. just trying to get a little information so i can get a foundation, thats why i am going and staying in school thanks for your help.

I suggest working in a shop for a couple years before even considering it. you need to learn the ins and outs of day to day in a shop or your emlpoyees will eat you alive.
agreed,then re-think it over

Make a business plan, more business fail because of lack of a plan and proper capital .

It took me 2 years to get my biz running well,3 to make nice money.

I make a biz plan annually - next year will be a huge growth year for me just as planned - no plan means you end up working to pay bills and overhead
