I did a search and a thread or two came up. But nothing that helped me. Unless I missed something.

To me it sounds like its worth it because car audio is the one thing that I love to do.

But I was wondering what kind of courses they have. Or in other words........what are the different things that they teach you there?

Do they teach you like general instalation and whatnot?

I am planning on going either at the end of this year, or the beggining of next year. But I would like to get all of the info I can on it.

How much does it cost. I know that it can take a month or two. But if you guys would help me out I would greatly appreciate it

You would really have to look them up in your area and ask about them. I'm guessing it would be simlilar to an auto mechanics school where you get a certificate after you graduate from the program. Call up some schools, ask them questions. I have one here in NJ close to me and I asked them what they offered and got great info. They even offered for me to sit in on their classes for a day, but I decided I wanted to do auto mechanics instead

I know where the school is. Its in Daytona Florida. I would just like to find out more information about what they teach and what it costs

Thats a bit far for me. lol. Unless there are other ones here in Florida.

I did a google search and that same web site came up. Is there any others closer to Florida?

I think you'd be better off not going. The most you'll probably grab from a school is how to install an alarm/remote start/keyless. Everything else, well, can be learned on your own and from experience.

you are looking for http://www.installerinstitute.com the main guy is jason anderson. went there like 6 years ago and within 2 weeks of being back got me a job at circuit as an installer making 9/hr then 1.5yrs later i went to Best buy for 14/hr and now i am installing at a local shop as a fabricator and installer. learn security and ask alot of questions. i spent 3500 for the 6 week course and i made that back in less than 2 months of work.

It sounds like youre making pretty decent money now. I keep getting told my my stupid step father that its not worth it to get a job in the car audio field. But I am going to look into this more.

let me put it like this, i went to install school, i went to the snake pit. Before i went to the snake pit, i had already built many enclosures, learned the minor formulas and used the calculators online, i did lots of reading( im up to 3 years of reading online/reading forums/and hands on). did install in my car, took my car apart, learned by trial and error. Wen i went to install school i loved it, it was some of the best times i ever had BUT be warned. The snake pit has LOTS of really cool guys, they KNOW there stuff, theres NOTHING they cant do, its just that all of that knowledge does not flow into the students automaticaly . I would not advise you to attend this school if youre not familar with car audio, i would ONLY advise you to go to this school if you have experience(the more the better). Because as soon as you get there, if you dont know nothing, youll just end up hearing a bunch of crap you dont understand, and because theres limited time, things will be fast paced and you will be left behind, and walk out all confused. I would highly reccomend install school to those that are familiar with car audio/video/alarm. You dont have to be good, but you have to know the minimum, because when you get there you will grasp what they teach, and you will ask questions. For example, i had never TOUCHED, SEEN, OR UNDESTOOD the "alarm" . Before i knew it i had just spent 6 hours in a class talking about, door triggers, actuators, diodes, relays and i walked out with a big question mark in my head. I felt bad because i had just thrown away the 1,000$ alarm couse. The next day when we installed alarms, a lot of it made sense, and i wish i could have GONE back, after i installed that 1st alarm and re took the class. Ask questions, talk to the instructors. I consider what i learned in install school to be 20% of my total car audio knowledge, the other 40% i learned through the net/forums, and the other 40% trying out what i learned. Good luck.

Yea I know what you mean. I owuldnt want to go take this course if I was just getting into car audio.

But I have been into it for a while now. I have learned alot from these forums and a few others. Mainly from here. I am still learning.

This has been the one hobby I have that no matter how much you think you know.....there is always more to learn

So thats what I would like to do is go to the school.
