So what if I want to hook up a 1200w amp with an rl-p and 4 6 1/2" speakers in my room with my computer?

Good luck finding a 12VDC power supply for that. Best to use a pro audio rack amp for that kind of power.

To run the speakers, you'll need enclosures for them, obviously, and a receiver. Run the audio from the soundcard via a 1/8" stereo to RCA cable into the receiver.
