so yea i pretty much know next to nothing about car audio, other then what sounds good. i start driving in july and dont have to buy a vehicle, so im looking to spend the money i have on nice system for my 2001 chevy blazer 4x4. i have around $2500 to drop on something, and not knowing much about car audio i still know that that should be enough to get me a pretty nice sound. seeing as this will be installed by someone else, im guessing to put about $200 aside for installation leaving me at $2300.

so pretty much im just looking for a nice package suggestion. head unit, speakers, subs, amp, the works. links to where i could buy these products would be a great help as im not even sure where to look

thanks mucho

I dont know where you plan to geet it installed, but expect to pay more then that for installation. Around here, its cost about 150 dollars to just install a HU.

Or, just do it your self, and save some major cash.

Other ways to know more about car audio is to stick to forums like this for a couple of months and you should have a lot more knowledge.

Another piece of advice is do NOT always trust car audio salespeople, if you have a question of what they are saying this forum should help you.

If you have a problem or question, try searching it on the forum. Chances are that someone else already had the problem.

If you can't find the answer, then post it. Chances are that someone on this forum can help you.

I hope this helps, it'll take a while to fully understand audio, but to start your own stereo a little bit of searching and finding info should do.

I agree $200 won't cover all that. But 150 to install an HU? Thats nuts.

yea i kno people in my school that are heavy into car audio and install the stuff for people all the time. one even owns a mechanic shop. he said he'd give me everything i need for like $200 so ill be taking that route.

oh, and if someone could explain amps to me thatd really help out. i undertsand what they do and all, but im not really sure about the types. for something like id be getting, would i be shooting for a mono, 2-channel, or multi channel amp?
