Car audio hooked up to 110 AC

if you just want to test speakers than get a cheap plate amp from http://www.partsexpress.com). if you want to test amps than get a car battery charger(the higher amperage the better) and hook it up to a regular car battery. I used that setup to run near 1000watts to 2 15"s in my room for a while. Dont have pics on this pc though. The computer power supply idea is a bit more complicated and you might need to link a few supplies together, but a simple google search brings up everything you would ever need to know. Heres a video from youtube, theres dozens.

If money isnt an issue than you can buy a few of these and link them(depending on how big of an amps you will be testing) http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19564 or if your good with electrics there are schematics for 12v 100amp(and upwards) schematics....It all depends on how much power you plan on running and for how long they will be playing! Hope this helped.

go to walmart.

get a cord that allows you to plug your I pod in one side - and gives you 2 rca plugs on the other side. its mad cheep.

then hook up + and - wires to your car battery. - connect those wires properly to your amp.

then hook up the speakers to amp.

check your wires. make shure thery right.

do a jumper wire from the + to the remote spot. - it helps to be able to "twist" it on and off if you split this wire, and cap it with a wire nut.

that way you can turn amp off in a hurry. ( or not be ghetto and wire in a on off toggle switch)

plug in your rca wire from walmart to the channel you wana test on amp - and use I pod to control amp.

it works.

that way you can use all your car audio stuff - exept your head unit.

and "test" it all out.

it helps to have the car running. that way it gets more than 12v with alternator making power also.

let us know how it works.

btw - I keep an extra battery in the garage just to test amps on.
