Car Amp

I have a 2006 Chrysler 300. I have a pair of tweeters in the dash, kicker KS 6.5's in the front doors, and RF Punch 6x9's in the rear deck. Running all of this off of the stock head because it would be a huge pain to replace/mod my dash bezel to fit a new double din. The bass really isn't up to my standards. I was thinking about adding someone like a Sony XMS400D to give the speakers some more power. I don't have to amp the tweeters. Would 45 watts per channel really make a difference? Any thoughts on what to do?

None of those speakers are really tuned to get that low, but the amp will make a difference. Factory head units often pass less bass as the volume gets higher so as to save factory speakers from reaching xmax. That being said, the amp you chose seems to be low on options for different settings. You'd want an adjustable high pass and low pass filter at the least. It's also class D which isn't the best for speakers in the higher ranges. I would recommend getting an active LOC and a normal 4 channel AB amplifier with adjustable high pass, low pass, and gain knobs.

Having said all that, if you actually want bass you could get more by adding a subwoofer instead to see if that gives you what you're looking for. In that case you'd still get the active LOC but then instead of an AB amp you'd get a mono class D amp and a subwoofer + enclosure. Depending on the enclosure you'll have different low ranges, but bottom line is a subwoofer in almost any enclosure if it's not terrible will always put out more bass than even a high quality 6x9" if it's mounted in a stock configuration.
