As I said before Zach, you work looked great, but your ability to followthrough is a real issue, as I just spent another $300+ to repair the issue. All I asked for from you was was $50 worth of parts so the local tech could fix it. You were unable to do what you said you would which was refund the money if the amp didn't work. It didn't and I didn't even ask for a refund, just the parts to get it running which you were unable to supply me with.

Regards

These were the terms:

"1. Ship the amp to me and email or pm tracking number.

2. Once I receive the amp I will email or pm you immediately that i

received it.

3. I will look at it same or next day and if not I will email or pm you.

4. Once I find out whats wrong with the unit and how much the parts

will cost I will need payment for the parts.

5 If unit turns out to be unrepairable I will refund parts immediately

and ship the amp back at my cost." (I reapired it)

I charged $100 labor to repair that amp and do all the work I did to it. I showed video proof of the amp working before it left my shop. From the terms it was "If unit turns out to be un-repairable I will refund parts immediately and ship the amp back at my cost". I repaired it.

I said I couldn’t ship you the $50 in parts you wanted because I had no money at the moment and after not hearing anything for a month from you all a sudden you needed parts asap when I had to order them anyway, but I said I could send you out the fets that blew and it would take a week or two. Your technician changed 4 Fets and charged you $300+?

I changed 24 power supply fets, 23 capacitors, All surface mount components in power supply section, rewound a power supply transformer, replaced 20 amplifier fets, repaired issues from previous repairs, Sandblasted and repainted fet clamps, replaced audio wires, and replaced all thermal insulation and thermal paste.

Whats fair is fair everyone has heard your side of the story here is my side.

Edit: I also want to note that Kent is a great guy to deal with and very professional with prompt payment but I want everyone to hear both sides of the story and judge for them selfs.

Whats up man,

Its ***** when you got out of your way for people for them to turn around and not acknowledge it. your TERMS seem pretty easy to accept! Thats a good thing, structure! It appears you do high quality work!

Please PM me your addy and a basic price sheet on average cost of repairs.

(oh my, how nice, this website is 3 yrs old safe, no ******* god damin cuss words, this is the man section of this forum, right?)

From the terms it was "If unit turns out to be un-repairable I will refund parts immediately and ship the amp back at my cost". I repaired it. (Yes you showed video of it working under no load, and infact there is evidence that that video was then there was additional work done as the hold down for the fets that we discussed was not bent in the video or pictures, but was bent when I recieved the amp

Your technician changed 4 Fets and charged you $300+? (You stated that I would have to pay the shipping and you would only send me the 4 fets, I said if if I was going have to pay for them to be delivered to you, then for you to ship them to me, it would just be better (time and money) for me to get them directly as the 4 fets were less than $15, I actually wanted 12 fets just to have some extra just incase there were other issues and the same area needed further work, because there is no proof that something else is causeing them to blow, like the drivers or ppulse width circuit. There were surface mount itmes that had to be repaired also, and given I said the repair was $250 plus parts that be 5 hours at $50 / hour shop time

I changed 24 power supply fets, 23 capacitors, All surface mount components in power supply section, rewound a power supply transformer, replaced 20 amplifier fets, repaired issues from previous repairs, Sandblasted and repainted fet clamps, replaced audio wires, and replaced all thermal insulation and thermal paste. Agreed, you did do all of this, and as I said the work looked great, You set the price, not me and in fact I actually on multiple occasions asked if you needed more money, and you declined (very honorable for the amount of work ) however it is all for nothing if the primary function of the amplifier is not functioning, and it has not functioned for me. In fact after getting the amp back from the shop here and watching it work on the test bench with at min input an output, when installed and put under minimal pressure it burnt again. in the same spot so IMO there is definately something wrong elsewhere.

Whats fair is fair everyone has heard your side of the story here is my side.Yes agreed, I am very glad you have posed as I once again want to say that I am very happy with how the work looked and I am appreciative of the time and detail that you spent, my issue lies in the functionallity and follow up.

Edit: I also want to note that Kent is a great guy to deal with and very professional with prompt payment but I want everyone to hear both sides of the story and judge for them selfs. If I was local to Zach I would use him again, as I believe if I was local Zach whoudl have had this back on his bench and I would be happy to buy more parts. Unfcortunately I am not local, and he doesn't have the cash to get it infront of him again, Zach is not perfect but I will say that my experiance prior to the burn was fantastic. But then when repairing amplifiers if the amp doesn't work what is the point?
thats my 0.02

I acknowledged it, if you don't believe me ask Zach. And his yes terms are good, however the simiple fact that the amp doesn't work is the problem. yes he invested time, and I invested money, yet I should be happy with having a pretty amp that doesn't work?

Wait it burned again? How did he bench test and what kind of load was he using?

Also if it burned again then the clamp was not the cause.

How long did you run it before it went again. I had the amp running for 5 hours straight.

What ohm load are you running the amp at?

Also if it burned again then the clamp was not the cause. this is not necessarily so, The tech here reported that was the caues, there may be another issue outside of that. And then again it may not have been, although I saw the clamp myself and it was highly suspect.

How long did you run it before it went again. I had the amp running for 5 hours straight.did you run it under a real load or just hve it on a small power supply

What ohm load are you running the amp at?see below
they showed me it powered up on a small 30 power supply at very low volume. I watched it drive a subwoofer while being powered by that small supply and took the amp. I them installed the amp in the vehicle, (250amp alt, big 2, tons of 0ga, 3 Kinetic 2000 batts charging at 14.9v). Hooked up the power, no rca or speakers and tested it to power up. It did so, so I turned off the system. Then added the RCAs, powered it up again, and it did fine, so I powered it down, and hooked up the subs (4 Sundown SA15) at 1.6 ohm starting. Set the crossover and SSF, turned off any boost, turned the gain to all the way down. I then powered up the amp again with the head unit all the way down. It powered up fine, I slowly turned up the headunit to about ¼ volume and the subs came alive albeit low volume. So I went to the amp and adjusted the gain up slowly in total about 1/6th of a from min. The subs reacted by increasing in volume, then a puff of the magic smoke of death.

That is solid work. I just hope he didn't bite off more than he could chew, from a business perspective. It'd be a shame for that talent to go down from a bit of eagerness. Good on you for the communication and even better on kmanian for being civil about such an issue.

What exactly happened to that amp, a bomb?

The problem we are having is one of the 6 power supplies has shorted.

Kamanian then had it fixed by a local repair shop, since im like 2000 miles away from kmanian, only for that same power supply to short.

I recived pics of the new repairs and thay are not nice.

I still have no idea why its shorting and we are trying to figure it out becuase I had it running fine on my end but when Kmanian recived it it blew up on him right away and since we are so far apart it makes things much more complicated.
