caps????

ok i was told i need caps for my 6X9's to lower the bass coming out of them, and instead just have the subs do that. i dont know what a cap is, where to get them, or even how to search for them. please help me out, thanks

they are also called bass blockers. they are basically a passive filter that filters out low frequencies. what deck do you have? are the speakers amped? if you crank the bass up, they will still play bass. you wanna high pass them at about 80-100 hz

not neccesarily

they arent refering to stiffening capacitors, they were refering to the use that a capacitor is much better suited for. that is a high pass filter.

this will keep the speakers you wire them in line with from attempting to reproduce information to low for them to handle, in this case keeping the 6x9's from playing sub bass frequencies.

doesn't that deck have a high pass filter? set your xover at 80 hz. high pass for the 6x9's and then 80 hz. low pass for the sub

yes. you should set it to like 80 hz. so you sub will be lp and the speakers hp at 80

Depends on your deck. Does your deck have a dedicated sub output, or can you adjust the rear outputs so that they are a non-fading output?
