so u have a 100 + alt then? 11 -12 is bad u sure u seeing that right. the level on the deck is fine. he bass boost on the amp thats not past half way? if its all at a good level then have your alt checked cuz thats some low voltage. a battery would be good. and no to a cap. its cheap but wont do much for u.

this is a stupid noob question.im pushing 760 watt pioneer amp with a pioneer sub hooked up all using scosche 6 g wire. i have a 500k micro farad capacitor all hooked up to it and sometimes my light dim just a tiny bit just like barely noticeable but its annoying to me. will getting a bigger capacitor help?

you have dimming with that amp??? it is only like 300 rms not bashing or anything that just does not seem right! my dad has the same 760 watt amp and he has no dimming but he also has a diesel that comes with two battery's up front!

do not use bass boost at all!!!!! **** a cap! and your battery is prolly just weak do you have trouble starting your car or anything like that!

thats a good deal for a cap. any ways let me understand. u say 11-12 as far as voltage. is the car running, are u just sitting there with the car running? if your geting that kinda drop your not charging up your battery. and your lights should be dimming knda hard. if its a shity cap with a dig read out it could be wrong. if thats how u checking your volt drop threw the cap. thats might not be the right reading.i had that cap i think . it would sit at 14.4 then music comes on it would go down to 12.8 or so. its not that good. i gave it away

haha lol i know hence a 12 volt battery depending on your battery and car and alt your battery should sit around 12 volts off and like 12-14 volts running. then you will have voltage drop with the amp being powered

if hes playing music well the car is running and he is just sitting there and geting 12 as far as a voltage reading thats not good. but with the car off then your fine. its just your killing your battery. but he said lights dimming so he must be doing this with the car running. check your alt and battery. try autozone they can check to see if u are geting 14.2 or so with the truck running.
