capacitor help

this is a stupid noob question.

im pushing 760 watt pioneer amp with a pioneer sub hooked up all using scosche 6 g wire. i have a 500k micro farad capacitor all hooked up to it and sometimes my light dim just a tiny bit just like barely noticeable but its annoying to me. will getting a bigger capacitor help?

well i just signed on to see whats goin on here. hey man that stuff u got it at walmart right? if not i know that stuff. i work for walmart. and they sell that stuff if u have that sub bridged to the amp try lowering the levels and bass boost. that might help. i posted about a power cap. but im gona tell ya thats not gona help to much. if your happy with one sub and if the volts stay above 13.0 with the lights on then your fine. if your gona add more subs then just use the 2 channels that way it should not draw to much volts.

Best thing to do is junk that cap and upgrade your crank battery under the hood.

Kinetik or powermaster, should solve your dimming issue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yea i know i dont know why i said that sorry bro. what car u have and hows your stock alt and battery? changing the battery wont do much. ones the car started it goes over to your alt.a better battery could be good if u just put the amp and sub in your car. if he only has one sub and its bridged and has his bass boost up and level up to far that might be giving him his dimming. as for me it was the same thing. and it might be his ground there is a few things to look in to. gain setting, ground, and how is your alt and battery

its just when u start your car its the battery that starts it with the starter. then your alt takes over. your moter draws then your alt puts it back. in most of our cases its our music that draws as well lol. i do think a battery upgrade is a good thing. u get a better charging with a better battery. but as far as him geting a little dimming it can be just a gain or ground prob. i am not going against the battery upgrade. but its not really what he needs. its what i need though.

A battery like Kinetik or a powermaster will make a world of diffrence sir. Stock batterys do not have the capacity to keep up with a high current drawing amp.

This is a known fact to any real car stereo installer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks for your answers. actually my gain isnt high and the bass boost on my head unit is at 0 which is a pioneer p4000ub by the way. the capacitor stays in the high 11 volts to high 12's when my bass is hitting hard. so would a bigger capacitor or help or do i have to live with. its not even that much of a dim just a tiny bit but i want it to be perfect. oh by the way the car is a 96 explorer eddie bauer

i just dont see this being his prob. he is not running that big of an amp. i do understand the battery could help. but not when hes geting a little dimming. ok so he should buy 150+ doller battery. as far as what he has in his car/truck i dont know if he wants to go that far. so if some one is geting a little voltage drop and a little dimming. u would say ok buy a 150 doller battery. i do agree with the battery. i mean its not for him now atleast. if he has his gains low an still geing voltage drops in the low to midd 12's then yes.
