can't find sub to fit this enclosure...

i have an '06 jetta and wanted a stealthbox-type application for my car. unfortunately, no one makes one. well, there is a guy who makes some in his garage:

jetta-sub.jpg

http://www.freewebs.com/uber-stealth/volkswagen.htm

Specs:

Mounting Depth: 4.25+"

Air Space : .45 cubic feet

Comes compleate w/ carpet, speaker terminals and speaker wire

Box fits in the driver's side rear storage cubby

Sticks out 3/4" farther than the factory storage cover

Requires no modification to car to fit

Grills availible

So here's my problem: that .45 cubic feet & power handling. I plan to push this sub with either my PPI A300.2 or my Orion 275SX. Both put out north of 300 watts. i want a single 10" driver that will clear these specs (.45 cubic feet with only a 4.5" mounting depth) BUT will also handle 400 watts RMS.

The sub that this guy offers with it is the ED SQ10, which has gotten very mixed reviews, and can't even handle that power anyway. i've seen a lot of the shallow mount subs, but they require double the airspace.

any ideas of what might fit this?

any ideas of what other people/companies might make some sort of stealthbox for an '06 jetta?

thanks!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks for the reply! i've actually already looked at all those. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

JL - only makes the 13" sub in shallow-mount. 12" to come soon, but no 10" on horizon. (i need a 10" for this enclosure). RE subs makes one, but they only make a dual 4-ohm version. i'm going to run it 4 ohm mono from the amp, so i need either a 4 ohm SVC or a 2 ohm DVC.

pioneer DOES make one, and it actually seems like it will fit the bill. that said, pioneer isn't one of my top choices but i'll settle if i can't find anything else. thanks!

just buy the box and reverse mount a normal sub on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
problem solved.

Yea, and less than 1/2 of a cubic foot is still really small for most 10s.

The only one that comes to mind, is the Aura NS10-513-4A.

Needs .5 cubic foot sealed, not sure on the depth, but if you don't mind inverting the driver, it's a really good choice for what you have to work with.

Also it's only $98+ plus shipping

yeah i very much appreciate the suggestions guys, but inverting would go against what i'm looking for.

found an MB Quart sub that fits the bill. how is MB with subs though? i know their components are pretty solid, know nothing of their subs though:

this seems to fit power handling requirements & airspace/mounting depth.

EDIT: Aura sub only handles 200 wRMS it says... i'll probably be throwing close to 400w at it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Go figure reading the PDF on the Aura actually helps. Sorry, it's just under 6" for mounting depth.

There's always the Tang Band version of the SQ10, which is really where eDuh got the design from anyway.

Too bad it isn't even out yet, nor does it meet his 4 ohm final impedance requirement.
The prototype is already being tested, so they should be placing orders for the first batch relatively soon. You're right about the impedance, though.

But I'd still rather run one of these at 8 ohms than a Pioneer shallow mount at 4.

The first prototype was built and tested a while ago, but the second prototype just got finished being built. I'll post pictures of what the new version is going to look like on our forum during this next week. That, and they're only available in a 12" size and the enclosure in question is a 10" isn't it?

yeah, thanks for all the suggestions & help guys, i appreciate that you are trying.

but all the suggestions have a "thing" that prevents them from working in this application, which is the same issues i was having when i was searching.

Tang Band - only handles like 120w RMS.

the one linked above - 8 ohms and not out yet, AND a 12" (the box is pre-cut for a 10")

looks like i won't be getting this box then. i would rather have a non-stealthbox with a sub i'd want to run than a stealthbox running some dinky ED sub or something.
