SX d4 reads d3

so I got is used and I'm not sure if it's supposed to read a little off. 1st time playing with them. actually, only tested one in my buddies ride and measured the one I have sitting. this one the guy I got it from said it was blown. but I checked with an 18v battery and both coils move the sub fine and both coils read 3.0ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm thinkin maybe his amp went into protect when the sub got hot so did the amp because he made it smoke from what he told me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I'll try it out this weekend. I've made subs smoke and had them still play fine after cooling down. my amp didn't even go into protect...

think they just read 3ohms, it's running fine, have it hooked up parallel to one of my xp1400ds and it's bangin. box is tuned over 40hz tho cuz I had custom spl subs in them before and these don't drop as low in the high tuned boxes but I have a bomb box laying around its tuned stupid low and has alot of port and dual 3/4" all sides even the slot port wall so it's dub'ed my bomb box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'll drop it in there an see what happens //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif maybe I'll strap the pair of xp1400ds on her and see if I can make her slinky the coil thru the double dustcap deal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif slinkied a shocker super 18" once, it was awesome, don't ask me how, but the coil windings unravelled through the dustcap... was funny but sucked at the same time lol

Well considering our D4's are really D2.8 dcr I would say it's in spec.
