Hmmm although I dont' have first hand experience with the sub.... 40kw.... RIGHT burps maybe. (which you may be talking about) But you said it like it takes 40kw to do it. I bet it could be done off of a true 6 to 8kw if played for a decent amount of time (NOW that is still AMAZING). rememeber even most well built subs won't handle 2kw overall average power. My friend/teammate is getting about 2400 watts rms to each of his 2 18 inch fully loaded BTL's and he says since he upped the power to 2400 per sub they are STINKING BAD. But this is tested at 2400 watts w/ imp rise.doesnt the dd 99z costs like 15k? for the 18"? theres 2 of them at a shop? how can u blow one..they take like 40,000w
trying. dd is notorious for not doing stupid shit like this. they dont release any REAL specs..The new Z Series woofers have more Watts than any speakers we have ever built, so many Watts they got, that we thought of using a new slogan, Got Watts?, but that’s lame so we didn't. We tried to measure the exact amount of Watts a Z Series makes, but no matter how hard we tried to invent a machine to measure the speaker Watts, we could never do it, so they must really make lot of Watts.........
that is off DD's website. Now I might be missing something here or were they just trying to be funny???
Well..... what do you think? Do subwoofers make watts? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifThe new Z Series woofers have more Watts than any speakers we have ever built, so many Watts they got, that we thought of using a new slogan, Got Watts?, but that’s lame so we didn't. I lol'edwhere are you form that they have a shop with 2 ddz sitting out for people to press the cones in to see if the coil scratches or not, lol. If i had one and someone even touched it Id slap them
or brag constantly about them, and take pics of them sitting on a green vinyl floorjuding by their t/s specs, i'd say they're being funny. also most people who have these subs use them in comp only extreme vehicle, (notice i said most) so those vehicles probably aren't going to show any flex.
A 12" BTL took 6000 watts no problem for extended periods in the great 12" challenge and soaked up a 10kw burp no problem. I'd rather have the BTL as well as Fi seems like not nearly as big of douche bags as DD.Hmmm although I dont' have first hand experience with the sub.... 40kw.... RIGHT burps maybe. Yeah I wanna see a clamp and dmm on it......... I believe 10kw for burps. that I believe.... 6000 true watts.......... call me a skepticA 12" BTL took 6000 watts no problem for extended periods in the great 12" challenge and soaked up a 10kw burp no problem.
