Cancel order for CL-61a's and get Viper 650.2?

Well I ordered the CDT's from thezeb.com a week ago. I e-mailed them and they said they wouldn't ship for another 4 days. **** them, they could have at least e-mailed me to let me know, the order confirmation said they would ship within 24 hours . So now I'm thinking about canceling the order and getting the Viper 650.2's from soundomain.com for like $10 cheaper. How do they compare to the CL-61's? Has anyone heard both? I searched the site but there aren't too many recent threads on these.

I myself had problems with zeb. I think if you'll read through the forums people seem to speak very highly of the CDT's. I have some CDT coaxials in the front of my truck (being replaced this week with Focal Slim components) that I think sound excellent. Alot of people seem to think CDT's are one of the best low-mid priced speakers.

Has anyone heard both the Vipers & CDT's. I really want to cancel my order just because I hate it when companies tell you your item will ship in 24 hours and arrive in 3-5 days, and after a week it hasn't shipped, and won't for a few days. If they would have informed me it wouldn't annoy me so much.

I read some good things about the Vipers, just want to know if anyone has compared them with the CDT's.

i also want to kno if i can should wait for the CL-61a cause thezeb says that they are out of stock now or should i get the Vipers? does anyone kno how the 2 compare? help would be appreciated thanks

Hey I searched http://www.caraudioforum.com and found a bunch of links on it. I've already canceled my order and got the Vipers. From what I've read they have much better midbass and just better overall. There's a review floating around one of the discussions on that other forum. If you do a search you'll find it.

ya i was lookin them up too but then i saw that they have titanium tweeters n from wat i hear those are harsh so i'll jus wait too see about the Cdt's

Whats wrong with titanium tweeters? And also, where can you get the vipers for the best price? I really want some 6.5 components and mainly for great highs, and decent mids. I don't really want to spend more than $150 a pair though. If I have to go with 5.25s I will. Please give me your suggestions. Thanks.

i have never heard any titanium tweeters but from wat ppl say they are a lil harsh on the ears but it depends wat u like i guess. u can get the vipers from http://www.sounddomain.com for like 140

Thanks alot man. But when you say harsh, do you mean just very very high highs? I want really loud clean highs more than anything from my components. Is there anything else any better than either of those?

cdt has better mid and viper has better tweeter. the viper's tweeter can get a little bright, but not harsh at all. depending on what kind of music you listen to, both sets are nice.

From what I've read (no personal experience). The CDT's sound warmer than the vipers. It seems most people who mount the vipers tweeters up high they say they are too harsh. Those who have them mounted low in the doors or in kick panels by their feet didn't think the Vipers were too harsh. I've also read the Vipers has "punchier" midbass. I have some Q-Logic kick panels that I'm fiberglassing to reinforce, and I want real clear bass & high's so I decided to go with the Vipers.

Most people seem to think you need to compare the Viper 650.2 to the CDT HD series because they are more in line performance wise. However at the price the Vipers are going for now at Sounddomain.com you have to compare them with the comparably priced CL-61's.

Again I've have not heard either. This is just what I've heard on the various message boards I've read.

So which has harsher highs, the CDTs or the Vipers? I think I'll go with the 5.25s from DEI if I end up with that brand. I really just want loud clean highs. Thanks
