Can you raise impedance?

Im looking to get a 8" polk momo for my home theater, but its svc 4ohm and my receiver is 8ohm and up..are there resistors or something that can make the impedance rise to 8ohm?

get 2 of them and it will give you a 8ohm load wired in series

i know that i can wire two to 8ohm

i just dont want to have two subs i dont have room..is there anything else i can do?

Find an impedance matching transformer. That or get a different sub that's 8 ohms or a 4 ohm stable plate amp.

It's been said dude. Either find yourself an impedence matching transformer, or get yourself a different sub. You can't add a resistor, or capacitor, or inductor, or transistor, or...

Have you tried running the receiver with the 4 ohm driver yet? I bet it will be just fine running at 4 ohms. Keep the volumes low and make sure nothing gets hot. If the amp is rated at more power than the sub can safely handle, you should be more than fine and the amp may not even get too hot.
