Can you put ports in rear deck? Will it affect sound?

Subs firing into the cabin work best in my application. I have though of trying to have subs firing away from cabin with ports in the back of the box that went through the rear deck. That may work.

thats what i was thinking about but not sure on how it would sound.

Now my question is placing of the port, does it matter where?

Cause in the case of firing the subs to the rear and the ports firing to the top would work for me, if audibly sounds good or theoretically correct in audio sences

I would still recomend speaking with oune of these guys: ngsm13,jntar- or look up and message 80-- all three of them are pretty level and straightforward...and have a lot of experience and common sense as far as subs, enclosures, aim ing, etc go.... mistakes are lessons in disguise but if you can learn from someone elses...why not?
