If you take a look in the middle of my rear deck there are two rectangular areas cutout between the speaker holes. And then obviously a carpeted foam overlay sits on top of the deck when put back together. Since so much air is coming through I thought cutting into the overlay would allow more air from the trunk to come through into the cabin. This not only allowing more sound through but possibly reducing rattles from air being trapped in the trunk with nowhere to go.
My questions is if I make some sort of port that drops into the overlay and down to the bottom of the metal deck will this affect sound? We talk about port tuning on boxes all the time...but is there trunk tuning //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Or will it just let the air from the box pass through. I don't see it being a problem but I was curious about what some of you guys thought Here's a rough idea of what I plan on dropping through the deck. I figure this would be simple way of doing it.
Thanks,
Justin
