Hey guys I just got my 2004 altima. I put my alpine 9833 and ipod adapter in it and installed my amp alpine pdx2.150.

I have 2 RE 8's on the way for bass is what I had in mind. I also won a pair of BNIB CDT 5L-5x and bought a pair of old school BNIB orion xtr5.2 components. I kinda had in mind mounting the orions in front with an amp the CDT coaxes in back off HU and the 8's ported off the alpine in my sig. I have also seen that ppl put the 8's in the back deck. What is the purpose for that? Lows or mids with the basically IB.

Any help would be appreciated. I haven't gone this extensive into car audio at one time in a long while. Mainly just sub, amp and front coaxes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But now I wanna have good qualtiy bass and sound.

I don't think RE 8's are designed for IB so you shouldn't mount them in the deck.

Generally you will get better SQ from a sealed enclosure than a ported. It should have a flatter frequency response than ported but won't be as loud.

The purpose of my IB install was to save space and have good SQ. It takes some work though to do it right.

I know that sealed is better SQ but will ported with these 8's be bad? I haven't even begun to design my box yet. So should I go with sealed or ported for these RE 8's?

Also what about my frontstage what kind of amp 2 or 4 channel? active vs passive basically if I understand right.

I put (2) RE8's in my Ladies Alero 1.2^ Ported @35Hz

Its awsome.. way more Bass than I would think (2) 8's would do..

they are at 2Ohms on the rear chanles of a clarion amp..

getting 160w each or so..

I love'em..

Peace Troy..

With 4 ohm front speakers you can make more use of an amps full potential by bridging it (for most amps, which are 2 ohm stable into one channel, 4 ohm stable when bridged). So I would get a 4 channel and bridge it. Also with 4 channels you have the option, if you have enough power, to go with an active setup in the future.
