can you bridge head unit power?

No. Not recommended. It can fry out the HU's amplifier, as it's already internally bridged.

There's a few older alpines and pioneer's that were able to do it, but not many.

The question is confusing. Connect the 4" to the radio and use the rear amp channels for the sub. If the sub is DVC you can also use it in stereo...

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
