Can you bridge a HU

I havent looked at the old pioneer manuals for a while but if I remeber right you dont bridge the rear channels in a normal fashion. You turn on the rear sub option and the deck actuall throws an electronic switch in the deck that internally bridges the deck and you then run the sub off the rear right channel only.

Amplifier

Continuous power output is 22 W per channel min. into

4 ohms, both channels driven 50 to 15,000 Hz with no

more than 5% THD.

Maximum power output ..... 50 W × 4, 50 W × 2 ch/4 Ω

+ 70 W × 1 ch/2 Ω

(for Subwoofer)

Load impedance ................. 4 Ω (4 – 8 Ω [2 Ω for 1 ch]

allowable)

Preout maximum output level/output impedance

............................................. 2.2 V/1 kΩ

Ya, I just checked a manual for an old Pioneer 4300 and it says that it internally bridges the rear channels and you use the rear right channel ( the purple and purple/black wires for those playing the home game) to connect the sub.
