Can you blow amps by hooking it up wrong?

Good quality amps, no

low budget amps.. yes

My question would be are we talking speaker outputs or power input?

I've tested a few amps 'protection circuitry' by deliberately switching the power input leads over, it promptly kicks into protect, as it should, and if it fails, that is a warranty issue if they state reverse polarity protection.

But if we are talking speaker outputs, it doesn't matter...
