Can you blow all the mosfets without giving volume to an amp?

In a higher power amp, where some mosfets are burned up etc, is it possible that during repair the repair guy made a mistake somehow and when the amp powers up it burns the mofsets? Or does the amp need to be seeing ALOT of wattage to blow them?

If you had a shoddy repair job, you can blow a whole row of FETS just by turning the amp on. Also, some repair techs don't replace all the FETS in a particular section when you only blow a couple. Then, on the next power up, Murphy comes to bite you in the *** and blows the so called "good" FETS.

Yeah, well the amp powered up, and POOF smoke

Not going into protection but not giving any output and all the connections are perfect and right. I just had it in for repair to replace the output and the mofsets, and Ill I get in return is a poof of smoke

Its got a warranty, so I hope they cover it, I just wanted to make sure they couldnt say I didnt give it any power and blew it myself by being an idiot when it only powered up

They should have load tested your amp before returning it back to you to ensure that the repair job was good to go. I guess you could take them up on their "warranty" but just don't be shocked if they find a way to squeeze more money out of you.
