can too much bass damage a GPS?

i had a power acoustik head unit years ago. at higher volumes the bass would skip the cd. after about 3 months, something rattled off inside and blew it. i would expect your gps to have better build quality than anything power acoustik. not having moving parts in a gps is also an advantage.
