Can I run RSD's off 200 rms each?

I have a ppi pc4400.2...It does 200x2 @ 4ohm when bridged. Now I am afraid to run 200 to each daily, but if I turn the gain all the way down do you think it will be ok...If not I may look for a small 2 channel

I wouldn't go more than 150. Use a dmm to set your gain.

thats what I was thinking too, esp when that PPI is underrated.

is there a link to set gain with a dmm....I just got a nice one, now I'm just trying to learn to use it.

do you think I could still use the amp. Maybe I will just give them 50 to each till I get another amp

The amp will be fine. You don't have to use it's full output.

i would personally do anywhere from 100-120 watts per crossover...your amp will be fine..just set the gains correctly

You'll never be sending them anywhere near 200 watts RMS unless you like playing test tones. Use your ears. You can tell if they're being pushed to their limits. I set my components to 150RMS when they're rated for 60, and I've never had a problem.

Still not sure why you're so set on these, though - considering you're going to be running a pair of 15" Audioques...

300 (desired rms watts)

x 4 (ohms)

Take the square root of 1200 which is 34.64 and that is the voltage you're looking for with the dmm.

well I figured I'd try the boner...lol...not literally, but I already have 2 sets. I hear they get loud and sound good doing it. If someone gives me 160 shipped for both than I would switch and go with some diamond s600 comps in the kicks, and some more revs in the doors.
