Can I run my tweeters off of the H.U. (without an amp)

I was thinking that I could go totally active if I powered my tweeters off of my H.U.

Eclipse 8455 H.U.

i wouldnt. not enough crossover. i dont know about that HU but normally you wanna go to a x-over first

8455 has plenty of crossover ability if it has the same amount as the 8454. Yeah sure go for it. Tweeters only need like 15-25 watts to really get going anyway in a normal setup.

try it. use the crossovers it came with if they are part of a comp set. use the crossover on the HU for the mids and sub.

Alright,

So if I just use the passive crossovers from the component set, I should be able to get enough clean power out of my H.U. and have no problems... no serious problems that is?

If you use the correct crossover point you'll be alright. Power may not be as clear as you would like since it's from the h/u and they generally have a higher THD rating than an amplifier, but I think you'll be fine.

Of course, more power = clarity at higher volumes.
