Can I run my amp at 1ohm?

Depends on the subs and coil configuration of your sub/subs and what ohm your amplifier is stable at. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Is it 1 ohm stable amplifier or 2 ohm stable?

If it's 1 ohm stable, a D2 subwoofer will work, or if it's 2 ohm stable, a D4 will work. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Some ZX's can be run at 1 ohm, but I havn't seen many. I guess it just depends how your amp amps built, your electrical, etc. Try it, and if it cuts off and goes into protection during loud or long notes, then you know it's a no-can-do. If it runs fine with no problems whatsoever, then your golden and the amp can handle a 1 ohm load.

don't be a pussy, do it, if it blows up it gives you a reason to upgrade //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Well said.

Just try it..like he said, if it clips or shuts off. Sell/trade and get a different amp.

My old ZX300.1 Kicker amplifier was stable at 2 ohm, tryed it at 1 ohm for the hell of it and it shutoff, but everyones vehicle is different.

Don't have the cash to be upgrading all the time.

I think I will give it a try. Hopefully it lets me know if its a NO NO before it blows the hell up lol

Really? ****//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I will just get another 10" L5 then I can get my 2ohm load. Would only be giving around 500rms to 900(pair) but then I can always upgrade my amp down the road.

Yup. I accidentally wired my Bl which has dual 1 ohm coils, and I wired them to .5 instead of 2 ( I know I'm a dumb *** ), and the amp would shut off before the bass would even hit, so I'm sure my ZX won't take 1ohms too kindly.

My amplifier only sais 2 ohm stable but it goes 1 ohm and .5 ohm with out any problems whatsoever. Rockford Fosgate makes an excellant amplifier. Gets hot but any amplifier gets hot. haha. sais 500 rms ar 2 ohms im prolly pushing 800 at 1 ohm. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I got the same amp. Didnt like 1 ohm at all. Would play for a bit then go right into protect. And I have a very great electrical system to back it up.

same here i used to run 4 svc 12s at one time lol when i would turn it up a good bit it would always go into protection.
