Can I keep the rear seat audio controls in my Silverado when going aftermarket?

Does anyone know if the rear seat audio controls can be used when replacing the Bose Amplifier in my 2008 Silverado? It currently has the Bose System with rear entertainment and rear audio controls.

I have a complete new system with Head Unit, amplifiers, speakers, and subs on the way but was hoping to use the Rear Seat Audio Controls and video. I have the PAC RP5-31 and the rear seat entertainment cable for using the overhead display but not sure how the rear seat audio control is wired into the system.

Fair question. I really haven't used them at all in the past but had my first kid and it got me to thinking about keeping them. I thought that they would allow you to cut off the sound to the rear speaker so if someone wanted to watch something from the rear inputs you could listen to something in the front using only the front speakers. I guess you don't need the control to do that but it made it so you didn't have to use the balance to get that feature. The controls also have the input for an external video source.

Guess I don't know how the control works completely to answer your question. Just hate to have a display and controls in the vehicle that don't do anything.

it will be very difficult to use the rear controls with an aftermarket system. impossible? no. but you better be **** good at electronics and circuit wiring.

at the easiest, if you are lucky, steering wheel remote adapters are programmable to work with any resistive button system. if the aftermarket head unit has the ability to interact with an adapter, and the rear control button system is purely resistive and not digital, and the aftermarket unit already has the controls you want, then maybe. just maybe.

the short answer is no.
