The Wistles Go WOOOOOO!
just ordered a hifonics bx1605d, the new version of the old bx1500d. not sure if they did anything to help their overrating problem thay used to have in the past. so, on that note, how do i know how much power i can get out of it? i will set my gains with a dmm, but if i set it for 1500 wrms at 1 ohm, i dont want my subs getting more than 3-4% distortion to get there. id rather stay at 13-1400 with 1%.

Then again, i bought a 1600 watt amp for a reason, and id like to get as much power out of it as i can. i wouldnt be able to get my hands on an o-scope so testing for any distortion is kinda hard.

and please be realistic. i know the old amps only gave like 1350 rms at 10% distortion (thats the whole reason for this thread) so dont just tell my that hifonics is overrated. i know.

thanks guys.

even though they upgraded the amp you dont think itll put out better power? i mean my elec system isnt anything special except that my stock alt is liek 135 amps or somethin so im assuming i wont be always at 14.4.. but still..

so then what should i set the amp voltage to? 1400 rms? or will i get high distortion with that? shoudl i drop down to 1300? if so then ill be kinda pi*sed cause i couldve gotten somethin cheaper than 260 and gotten 1300 rms........
