orion 1200d or viper d1200.1 ?

Okay I need a little bit of help here..

I'm about to order (2) 2005 12" alpine type-r's and got a couple questions.

which amp would you go for in my situation, and also which model do i need to order? dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm?

Orion, dual 4ohm.

I would say the Orion also, just because the Vipers are no longer in production. Also, they are both made by DEI, the Orion is very similar to the Viper.

I believe they both produce over 1200 watts.. I think someone told me they had a birthsheet for a orion 1200d with 1300 watts

yes they are a true 1200 watts.

I would say a viper if you're getting dual 4, an Orion if you're getting dual 2 (1/2 ohm stable =)

The 1200 is 1ohm stable...

alot of you guys are saying orion. i guess i'll fork out the extra 20 bucks for the orion. now both the viper and orion are 1ohm stable right? running them at 1ohm, is this going to overheat the amp or will it be fine

That's strange. I figured they would come with a bench test stat sheet. Both my planet audio amps come with peformance sheets proving they exceeded listed #'s on the packet for s/n ratio and output.
