can i connect a subwoofer?

hi all,

i just brought a pioneer DEH-P5050UB car stereo, according to its user Manuel it can connect a subwoofer without any amplifier. there's a 600W 10" blaupunkt sub (not active) @ a local store and im hoping to buy it. so im asking can anyone tell me if its work with the pioneer that way. is it safe to connect it.

thank.

You can, but it's worthless. Maybe okay for a small cheap 8" bass tube or something, also when you do that you loose your rear speakers.

If you want something small and simple find yourself a small self amplified tube or something.
