Power doesnt blow subs, distortion does. If the guy who set it up for you knew he was doing he would've set the gains to a certain level and told u not to go pass a certain volume on the HU (usually 75%). If not then you probably turned the volume up too much and the amp was sending clipped signals to the subwoofer. Which can cause it to blow.Im gonna be honest. I dont really know much about car audio. Im good with Cabinets and shit but audio just aint my thing. I just bought my p2 and the Guy set it up for me. I definately cranked this ***** up but i didnt think it was THAT loud. even if i cranked my stereo all the way up and my sensitivty was set right could i blow that subwoofer? Cause if its a NO then im happy if it is a yes then ill probably have to get me a new sub and probably a better one.
trunk rattling from a 200 watt sub on a 150watt amp?Could that sound be from the trunk rattling and not the sub? Also, there is nothing wrong with having a sealed box. You don't want any air to be going in and out of it.
