Can I blow a speaker like this?

Ok, just got an amp for some CDT components.. today I spent a lot of time rewiring stuff and getting my crossovers into my trunk.. however heres the thing

on the left side for some reason I forgot which wire was for the tweeter and which for the midbass.. so come tomorrow if I stick the tweeter wire into the midbass slot on the crossover and then give it juice.. can my speakers get ****ed up if I mixed them up or does the crossover prevent any signal from being sent?

and it would be difficult for me to rip everything open and trace the wires back...id rather just go trial and error at the crossover but I wouldn't do it if it could cause damage

k thanks.. you think maybe a AA/AAA battery would work at all?.. dont have any 9v
yea you can use those, just hook it up to the wires...if it pushes the cone of the mid out than you have + to + and - to -. If it pulls it in then switch em around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

no wait.. im not worryin about the polarity at all.. i have the polarity set on all wires (white stripe = positive)

im just not sure which wires are tweeter and which are woofer

refer to post #4
okay so im guessin if i test in the tweets.. i proly wont have enough voltage to blow out a woofer obviously right? just needin to make sure that mixing anything up wont break the x-over or anything

you should be good. Also with the volume REALLY low you could get away with either way.

Yeah dont make the mistake of turning the volume up to loud, plug one of the wires into the tweeter and if the tweeters make noise it right, if not switch them around.

I made this mistake and blew out Alpine X seris tweets, doh!
